Things are a buzzing at the new Cape Town Pride offices in the Cape Quarter (at 4A Dixon Street).

The Parade and post-parade Fair are going to be extraordinary – come and march with us on Saturday as we create awareness of LGBTI issues and express support and concern for all LGBTI communities fighting for equality worldwide, especially in Africa.

Please note that the starting point of the parade has changed – meet outside Prestwich School, lower Napier Street, instead of the Green Point Traffic Dept! Meet at 11am as the parade will depart at 12pm sharp.

2010 Cape Town Pride MapWe heard your complaints last year about the tiny toilets at Prestwich School, the venue for this year’s post-parade Fair - we are happy to inform you that we will have a wheelchair friendly port-a-loo as well as fifteen additional port-a-loo toilets with attendants to ensure they are kept friendly all day.

Three large bars will be operating in addition to food and retail stalls. For the first time we’ll also feature a kiddie’s area with its own programme of clown, magician, story teller and jumping castle. The kiddie’s area will be open from 1pm to 5pm and will be run by volunteers from Good Hope Metropolitan Community Church.

We already have approximately fifteen float applications for the parade itself, in addition to groups walking in the parade. We are also pleased to confirm that the MAGI fund has allocated sponsorship for transport to make this day truly accessible for all the far flung queer communities.
