HISTORY OF CAPE TOWN PRIDE

PRIDE is an International Brand that has featured on the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Trans-gendered & Intersexed (LGBTI) Community event calendars World-wide for the past 30 years.

Cape Town Pride is a volunteer run Non-Profit Section 21 Company that annually organises an 10-day Cape Town Pride Festival and as of 2007 also various monthly events catering for the LGBTI community.

In the past, our sole beneficiary was the Cape Town Pride Shelter Trust which was established in 2005. The aim of the shelter is to offer short-term safe accommodation to members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community of greater Cape Town during times of crisis.

4.    THE FESTIVAL & EVENTS

Cape Town Pride festival has indeed become one of the Premier events on the Cape Town LGBTI social and community calendar. It serves as an opportunity to celebrate our country’s great Constitution with characteristic flair and flamboyance and to make a unique contribution to promoting diversity and tolerance in the Mother City.   The 10-day Festival comprises of a host of community-orientated events that are free of charge as well as some exclusive events that attract the high-yield members of the LGBTI community.  We will be grateful for your consideration of our attached sponsorship proposal.

The following benefits are offered to a Platinum Sponsor:

  • Branding on Pride livery (Letterheads, Email Newsletters, Brochures, Fliers, Posters, Invitations, press packs etc.)
  • Advertisement in the Festival Programme
  • Function branding at all parties/ events.
  • Product giveaways / competitions at events and through Pride database
  • Logo prominently displayed and linked to the sponsor’s home page on the Festival web site.
  • Acknowledgement in all Press releases to local and international media
  • One sponsor float at the Parade
  • One stall at Post Pride Party

Gold Sponsor – R40,000

The following benefits are offered to a Gold Sponsor:

  • 1 x Non-exclusive Event Naming Right e.g., The “Red Party” by XXX and A.N.OTHER
  • Branding on Pride livery (Letterheads, Email Newsletters, Brochures, Fliers, Posters, Invitations, press packs etc.)
  • Advertisement in the Festival Programme
  • Function branding at 2 parties / events.
  • Product giveaways / competitions at 2 events and through Pride database
  • Logo prominently displayed and linked to the sponsor’s home page on the Festival web site.
  • Acknowledgement in event specific press releases to local and international media
  • One sponsor float at the Parade
  • One stall at Post Pride Party

Silver Sponsor – R20,000

The following benefits are offered to a Silver Sponsor:

  • Branding on Pride livery (Letterheads, Email Newsletters, Brochures, Fliers, Posters, Invitations, press packs etc.)
  • Advertisement in the Festival Programme
  • Function branding at one event.
  • Product giveaways / competitions at one event and through Pride database

Event Sponsor – R10,000

  • Function branding at a particular event.

Business Partner – R2,000

  • Sponsorship in Kind (Products / Services to the value of R2,000)
  • Product giveaways / competitions at events and through Pride database
  • Logo displayed and linked to the sponsor’s home page on the Festival web site.

Friends of Pride – Amounts not less than R200 and up to R1 999

  • Listing on website and in Festival Programme showing amount of pledge
